Teach teenagers to pray in their own words, in their own way.
FYI’s On-the-Go prayer activities empower you to lead teenagers at every age and stage into deeper conversation with God. Each low-prep activity includes a quick centering or focus prayer, interactive reflection, and practical application prompts that get students praying in their own words. Use them at weekly youth groups, special events, camps, and retreats to teach your teens fresh and engaging ways to pray.
Praying to Receive God's Love
Prayer helps young people deepen their connection with God and remember that God deeply and unconditionally loves them. Through this prayer sketching activity, you’ll lead your group to think about where they look for identity, what makes God's love hard to believe, and how God’s love for us is revealed. Then you’ll lead them to reflect on and pray over biblical truths about God’s love for them. They'll choose one to create a poster as a personal visual reminder they can put somewhere visible or set as their phone wallpaper. Your teens can try this prayer exercise any time they need to reconnect with God and remember God’s love for them.
